Soul of the South
A celebration of the solstice, a call to gather in joy, and an invitation to awaken your wild, creative spirit.
Join the Meadowsweet family for Soul of the South, a 5-night, 6-day immersive gathering held during the height of summer at Tramores Estate — a 600-acre paradise of waterfalls, wildflower meadows, and fertile gardens tucked into the Andalusian mountains of southern Spain.
Here, we come together not just to rest and reconnect — but to sing from our souls, create with our hands, and learn from the land. Each day is woven with practices to inspire and nourish: morning movement and singing circles with Phoebe, crystal bowl sound journeys, wild swimming, guided meditations, and slow, intentional time in nature.
You’ll explore new crafts and creative forms rooted in the vibrant landscape — from botanical painting and learning to make paints from plant pigment, in floral gardens with British artist Harlie Briggs, to herbal wisdom and tea blending sessions with Amanda, the Wild Tea Lady. Let the textures, colors, and scents of this abundant estate infuse your work and awaken new pathways of expression.
Evenings are for gathering — around long farm-to-table dinners sourced from the estate’s organic gardens, under stars, on sun-drenched terraces, and by firelight — sharing songs, stories, and the simple joy of being in community.
Soul of the South is a celebration of life’s peak — a sacred pause to honor the sun, the land, and your own creative fire. Come as you are. Leave re-inspired, reconnected, and deeply nourished by the beauty around and within you.
The Sanctuary
Soul of the South by Meadowsweet Retreat is hosted at the beautiful 600-hectare Tramores Estate, a private sanctuary nestled in the hills above Benahavís, Andalusia. Once part of the lands surrounding an ancient Moorish castle dating back to the 10th century, the estate’s rich history gently whispers through its stone walls, terraced gardens, and winding woodland paths.
This timeless haven is a harmonious blend of wild Mediterranean woodlands, fragrant herb gardens, and crystal-clear streams and waterfalls perfect for wild swimming. The estate’s terraces overlook rolling mountains and valleys, bathed in golden light at dawn and dusk — an idyllic setting for quiet reflection and creative exploration.
Guests stay in beautifully restored Andalusian farmhouses where rustic charm meets elegant simplicity, with natural materials and soft earthy tones inviting calm and connection to the land. Throughout the day, the gardens and surrounding hills offer endless places to wander, forage, or simply sit in the gentle hum of nature.
A beloved escape for notable figures such as Princess Diana, Tramores offers deep privacy and total immersion in nature, making it a soulful sanctuary where history, luxury, and wild beauty entwine to nourish your spirit and awaken your creativity.
Your Guides
Soul of the South is more than a retreat — it’s a solstice gathering, a shared ritual of remembrance, creativity, and connection to the earth. Held during the height of summer, this experience is gently guided by four women whose lives are rooted in craft, nature, and soulful expression.
-
Amanda, known as The Wild Tea Lady, has been a lifelong forager specializing in crafting medicinal teas and infusion blends from wild botanicals, intuitively tailored to each client’s needs.
Alongside her deep herbal wisdom, Amanda brings over 30 years of experience practicing tarot, offering another way to guide and support personal journeys through insight and connection.
-
Harlie, a nature‑inspired abstract and figurative artist, whose work blooms out of walks in the forest, observations of light through leaves, and the rich textures of wild gardens. She uses acrylics, oils, pastel and upcycled surfaces, creating paintings, ceramics and homeware that carry the quiet power of nature.
During Soul of the South, Harlie will guide you in abstract free‑flow painting inspired by the vibrant floral gardens at Tremors Estate — helping you to sense the colour stories in petals and leaves, to play with texture and layering, to let your brush move intuitively, and to make art that reflects the seasons, the land, and your own voice.
-
Anya’s journey weaves together a deep love for creativity, plants, and the art of living slowly. With a background in floral design and years spent working in Michelin-starred restaurants, her work explores the places where food, art, and nature meet.
Whether arranging flowers, fermenting garden harvests, or painting with earth pigments, Anya's days are guided by seasonal rhythms and self- sufficiency.
-
Phoebe brings a deeply grounded presence shaped by years of therapeutic, musical, and somatic training. As an experienced therapist with a background in family constellations, yoga, and crystal bowl sound therapy, she holds a powerful space for emotional and energetic transformation. A passionate group singing facilitator and lifelong vocalist, she has spent the last four years immersed in the world of plant medicine and ceremonial music. Through movement, voicework, and soulful song circles, she invites you to come home to your body, your voice, and your ancestral rhythm.
